Longwood Chorus
SPREADING HARMONY IN HEALTHCARE

The mission of the Longwood Chorus, a 70-voice ensemble of Boston's healthcare and science community, is to bring together a community of healthcare and research professionals to decrease medical burnout, promote emotional wellness, and perform high-quality choral music.

Since its founding in 2017, the Longwood Chorus has brought together singers of various healthcare backgrounds – medical, graduate, and public health students, researchers, clinical research coordinators, therapists, nurses, residents, and attending physicians – from local schools and hospitals, including Harvard Medical School, Boston University School of Medicine, Boston Children's Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. We stage biannual concerts along with numerous outreach performances at hospitals and community events.

Spring 2025 Concert Information Coming Soon!

A portion of our concert revenue will be donated to Immigration Family Services Institute (IFSI-USA). IFSI-USA began in 2015 as an after-school program in a Roslindale church, dedicated to supporting immigrant families. Today, they offer a wide range of programs aimed at supporting the immigrant community including workforce readiness and ESOL programs for adults, and vibrant music and youth programs that nurture creativity and academic success. Through strategically located One-Stop Centers and the recent launch of a Family Welcome Center in partnership with the State of Massachusetts, they connect families to housing, healthcare, legal aid, and holistic support, reflecting our commitment to justice and dignity for immigrant communities. More information on their work can be found via their website at https://www.ifsi-usa.org/.

Meet our singers!

Getting to sing in a chorus like this gives me a beautiful emotional outlet, allows me to itch a different part of my brain, and also helps me break down some barriers in medical hierarchy to build community (I love singing with both trainees/students that I’ve supervised and attendings who have supervised me, as well as many non-MD healthcare team members!).

I remember that when my friend and I were envisioning this chorus in medical school that it really seemed like a pipe dream. Thanks to a core group of amazing, dedicated, talented people and a handful of generous believers, I’m continually amazed by how far it has come in the last five years!”
